The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), in collaboration with the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Melbourne, organised the first-ever Sri Lanka Pavilion at “Fine Food Australia 2026”, one of Australia’s leading trade exhibitions for the foodservice, hospitality and retail sectors. The exhibition is being held from 31 August to 3 September 2026 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Sri Lanka Pavilion was officially inaugurated on 31 August 2026 by the Consul General of Sri Lanka in Melbourne, Pradeepa Saram, together with officials of the Export Development Board.
A total of 12 Sri Lankan companies are participating in the Sri Lanka Pavilion, showcasing a diverse range of high-quality food and beverage products to the Australian and international markets. The participating companies include Akbar Brothers, Perera & Sons, Derana, Tradlanka (Ariya Food), Link Natural, Coconut Taprobane, Ocean Foods, HJS Condiments, K&D Foods, Saya International and Ceylon Coco Infresh. In addition to the companies participating under the Sri Lanka Pavilion, several other Sri Lankan companies, including Omilco Export Pvt Ltd, SMR Consolidated, Fab Foods and Ceylon Biscuits, showcased their products through individual stalls at the exhibition. The Sri Lanka Tea Board also facilitated the participation of Hedley’s Tea Pvt Ltd, highlighting the diversity and quality of Sri Lankan tea.
The participation of Sri Lankan companies at Fine Food Australia provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the country’s diverse food and beverage offerings, expand international market access and establish partnerships with key buyers and industry professionals from Australia and the wider Asia-Pacific region. The Sri Lanka Pavilion attracted considerable interest from importers, distributors, retailers and other industry stakeholders, while participating companies engaged in business-to-business meetings with prospective buyers and importers.
The establishment of a dedicated Pavilion at Fine Food Australia represented an important step in enhancing Sri Lanka’s national brand visibility and strengthening the country’s presence in the Australian food and beverage market.
