  • Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Melbourne accepts all Consular related applications both by post and pre-booked appointments in – person at the counter from Sri Lankans residing in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. 
  • In case of urgent consular matters, appointment can be requested by sending email to mail@slcgmel.org 
  • For document attestations and certifications including power of attorney, applicants can secure appointments by forwarding a formal request to mail@slcgmel.org
  • Please attend your appointment on time. Your delay will cause difficulties.
  • Applicants are requested to read all information / instructions /guidelines and the the checklist relevant to your application in the official website of the Consulate General carefully and ensure all required supportive documents are attached.
  • Please be informed that the consular fees can be paid in Cash or by Debit Card only. Tap & Pay facility is not available.
  • For collection of Passports / Citizenship Certificate/Verification Letters/ Driver Licenses and signing of Life Certificates, the applicants are requested to visit the Consulate only between 9.15am – 9.30am and 1.30pm -1.45pm.

Briefing for the Diplomatic Missions in Colombo on Sri Lanka Economic and Investment Summit 2026

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism facilitated a briefing for the Diplomatic Missions in Colombo on “Sri Lanka Economic and Investment Summit 2026” in collaboration with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce on 20 August 2026 at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies. 

Welcoming the invitees, Director General of Economic Affairs (Bilateral) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, highlighted the fundamental link between the private and public sectors in positioning Sri Lanka as a hub for trade and investment.  

In his remarks, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment, Arun Hemachandra highlighted Sri Lanka’s growing opportunities for foreign direct investment and access to emerging markets. He underscored the importance of strengthening high-level public–private partnerships and emphasized the vital role of the private sector in driving sustainable economic growth and development.

Speaking at the event, Krishan Baldendra, Chairperson of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, outlined the objectives and significance of the Sri Lanka Economic and Investment Summit, the Chamber’s annual flagship event. Secretary General and CEO of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, Shiran Fernando, subsequently delivered a detailed presentation on the Summit, highlighting its key features, registration process, and facilities and arrangements available for visiting foreign delegations.

The briefing provided the Diplomatic Missions an overview of the Summit and its key objectives, while encouraging their continued engagement and support in promoting international participation and investment opportunities in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka Economic and Investment Summit organized by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, will be held from 12 to 13 October 2026 at Shangri-La Colombo. The Summit aims to strengthen international partnerships and private sector engagement while advancing opportunities for sustainable investment and economic growth in Sri Lanka.
